What data we collect and why
Contact form
When you use our contact form we collect the information you choose to provide — your name, email address, company (optional) and your message. We use this solely to respond to your enquiry and, where relevant, to follow up on a possible business relationship.
- Legal basis: our legitimate interest in responding to your enquiry (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)); where your message concerns a possible order or contract, the basis may instead be steps taken prior to entering into a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)).
- Processors: the form is operated through Formspree (Formspree, Inc., USA), which receives and stores submissions on our behalf. Our website provider, Svadola AB (org. no. 559494-0412), administers the website and the form for us and therefore also has access to submissions.
Website analytics
We use Umami to understand how our website is used. Umami is privacy-friendly: it uses no cookies, collects no personally identifiable information, does not store IP addresses as identifiable data, and anonymises everything it records. It only produces aggregate, non-identifying statistics such as page views, the referring website, browser, operating system, device type and country. You cannot be identified or tracked across other websites.
- Legal basis: our legitimate interest in measuring and improving our website (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).
Hosting and server logs
The website is hosted on Google Firebase Hosting (Google LLC). As with most web servers, technical data such as your IP address and request details may be processed temporarily to deliver the site securely and reliably.
- Legal basis: our legitimate interest in operating a secure, reliable website (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).
Embedded third-party content
Some pages include content from third parties that may process data or set cookies when that content loads or when you interact with it:
- YouTube videos (on our Pickering Group and partner pages) are embedded in YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). No cookies are set until you choose to play a video; if you do, Google/YouTube may set cookies and process data under its own privacy policy.
YouTube is provided by Google LLC and is governed by Google's own privacy policy.
Cookies
Our website sets no cookies of its own — our analytics (Umami) is cookieless, and we use no advertising or tracking cookies. The only cookies that may be set are by YouTube, and only if you choose to play an embedded video. You can control or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings.
International transfers
Some of our processors are located outside the EU/EEA, including in the United States. Google LLC (Firebase Hosting and YouTube) is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, and Formspree, Inc. relies on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. We use these providers under their respective data-processing terms, which include these transfer safeguards.
How long we keep your data
We keep contact-form submissions for as long as needed to handle your enquiry and any resulting business relationship, after which they are deleted. Analytics data is anonymous and retained only in aggregate. Server logs are kept for a short period only.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- have your data erased;
- restrict or object to our processing;
- data portability;
- withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing carried out before withdrawal.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@pickering.se. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten, IMY — imy.se).
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available on this page, with the "last updated" date shown above.
